A partnership with you to create the future

Hsuan-Yi Wu

Dr Hsuan-Yi (Jen) WU was born with an adventurous, imaginative and engaging spirit that has fashioned her professional life and, in respect of the Creative Science Foundation, led her to crossing paths with the founders at a critical point, which had a profound impact on the nature of the organisation and its methods. In academic terms, her journey began with her gaining a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the National Taiwan University. From a Creative Science Foundation perspective, her next step, travelling to the UK to complete an MSc in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship at Manchester Business School was critical, since her dissertation field studies led her to meeting with Professor Victor Callaghan at the University of Essex (to discuss the concept of Living Labs). The conversations between them revealed a shared passion, the power of imagination in shaping both product innovations and, more generally, people’s entire lives (for example, see her writings about ‘The Spiritual Machine‘). The resulting conversations shaped the Creative Science Foundation (CSf) and led to Dr Wu developing the widely used Science Fiction Prototyping (SFP) innovation methodology, ‘Imagination Workshops‘ and the ‘Creative Innovation Development‘ (CID) process, which have been the focus of many papers and innovation events she has organised in Taiwan (see https://www.facebook.com/SciFiPrototyping). In broader terms, Dr WU is an adjunct assistant professor at the National Taipei University of Technology where she teaches on the IMBA programme. She is also an experienced marketing manager with a demonstrated history of working in the computer software industry. Her experience in both Asian and European centres of technology research and innovation has given her a unique insight to global business and technology innovation. She has assisted with many start-ups and is currently working with two software companies InfinitiesSoft Solutions Inc. and Aotter Inc.
