What is Creative Science?
The term 'creative science' relates to synergistically combining 'creativity' with 'science' so as to produce a more effective innovation process. It aims to do this by harnessing methods that invigorate imaginative thinking about new innovations and their consequences through, for example, using hybrids of fiction and fact to ask 'what if' questions relating to new development in science, business, and socio-economics.
Thus, in essence, it seeks to transform knowledge of the natural and physical world (e.g. STEM, Business and Management) into contributions for creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.
In this way, Creative Science is a tool which enables people to participate in creating the future.

Our mission
To empower people through creative science, showing people the possible future of technology.

Our vision
We believe that creativity is at the heart of innovation. Creative science empowers people to envisage and invent new technology, businesses and socio-economic systems. As such, it's a platform for sharing knowledge, engaging scientists, artists, and the general public to invent a desirable future together.

Our values
A core value of creative science is its belief that human imagination is of the utmost importance in human endeavour, and deserves to assume a key role in all aspects of life, especially in science, business, and socio-economics enterprise.
Our aims
-
- To be the primary affiliation for all people interested in using creative arts for science, engineering, business and sociopolitical and educational innovation.
-
- To foster Creative Science globally.
-
- To educate and empower people through creative science knowledge and innovation methodologies.
-
- To support publication of scholarly works that advance the theory and practice of creative science.
-
- To arrange a number of learned meetings in the discipline.
-
- To promote the Creative Science discipline within education (e.g. to motivate interest in STEM topics).
-
- To use Creative Science as a means of engaging government, industry, education, society and other relevant bodies in the furtherance of creative thinking and innovation.
-
- To lobby the relevant agencies in support of the discipline.

How we do it?
Our core methodology is the use of creative arts (e.g. writing, films, etc,) as a means to introduce innovations into science, engineering, business and sociopolitical systems. It differs from foresight activities as it doesn’t aim to be predictive (forecasting the future), rather it focuses on innovation, creating new concepts, schemes, services and/or products.
